Precambrian tectonic inheritance control of the NE Brazilian continental margin revealed by Curie point depth estimation

An investigation of Curie point depths (CPD) based on spectral analysis airborne magnetic data was carried out in the NE Brazilian continental margin. The studied region represents a narrow hyper-extended margin with three sedimentary basins. Regional geothermal gradient and heat flow were also calculated. CPD results integrated interpretation 2D deep seismic estimated isostatic Moho depths. reveal that crust is 150 km wide southern sector 80 north, ocean-continental transition (OCT) zone varies from 50 south to 30 20 north. isotherm showed strong influence main blocks Borborema ́s Shield tectonic evolution marginal corroborated models provided by gravimetric successfully demonstrated sharp control basement compartments thermal properties basins domains
